Workshop Prerequisites & Preparation

Technology Requirements

• Participants are expected to bring their own laptop.
• If you are unable to bring a laptop, please contact the instructor in advance and we will try to arrange access to one.

Installation instructions for the required software will be provided one week before the workshop to ensure everyone is using the most up-to-date version.

Workshop data will be available via GitHub two days before the session (accessible from the left-hand menu).
Please install the software and download the data before arriving at the workshop.

Important: If you are using a government or employer-issued laptop, IT authorization may be required to install software. Please plan accordingly.

Experience & Background

No prior experience with Tableau, GIS, or mapping software is required.

If you are comfortable using a computer, downloading and installing software, and working with files and folders, you will be well prepared.

Curiosity about maps, data, and visualization is the most important prerequisite!
